Week 20: {Simplicity}

Simplicity is.....playing in the backyard with your best friend.  It is having fun with the little things in life and not always having to venture out to have a good time.  Dylan had his little girlfriend Kara over for a play date.  He loves it when she comes over! They have so much fun together and play well with each other.  There is even a lot less fighting between the boys! Sadly, little Miss Kara and her family are moving in a couple of months.  We will have to squeeze in as many play dates as possible before she goes!

Week 19: {Reminders}

This week's challenge was to take pictures of what reminds us that our children are around.  The idea was not to have any people in the picture.  As I looked around the house, my thought was that reminders are everywhere.  Specifically in the little messes left around the house.  I like to call them booby traps! I dare you to walk around my house in the dark...you will surely fall to your death! Unless of course I was able to pick up all the toys....but let's be honest, that does not always happen.  I know one day we will no longer have toys lining the hallways and the playroom will be a hang out room with video games and such.  There won't be spilt sippy cups or toys to trip over.  So today, I will remember these things that can often be a thorn in my side and be thankful that I get to spend my days with these precious little toddlers!

Week 18: {NOISE}

We have been going to the park a lot lately in the evening before it gets too hot!  This particular day we went with some friends to the splash pad in the neighborhood.  Andrew is a BIG fan of the splash pad, but Dylan is not.  I don't think Dylan can quite see the water and does not understand where it is coming from.  He has a hard time seeing anything that does not have a lot of contrast to its background, so clear water is practically invisible to him.  He hates sprinklers too.  They freak him out! Poor kiddo! He loves pools though! Hopefully he will learn to enjoy the splash pad someday, but until then, he will let baby brother have all the fun!

Week 17: {To Sleep or Not to Sleep}

To sleep or not to sleep, that is the question.  Thankfully, with my boys, it is TO SLEEP! They love their nap time and they love going to bed at night (most of the time).  I feel like one lucky parent! We are really big on schedules and routines and it has worked really well with the boys.  They know what to expect and what is expected of them and they can also be very flexible, which works well with our hectic schedule.  Right now I am hoping for Andrew to go down to just one nap a day, but he does not want to give up his morning nap.  I snuck in their room one day during naptime.  I tiptoed in as quietly as I could and cracked the shutters to get some light in the room.  I was so surprised that the sound of the shutter on my camera did not wake them up! Yay for sleeping pictures! They are just so precious when they are sleeping :)

Week 16: {Relax}

Whoa!! I am a little behind on posting updates, so here's to catch up time!! Week 16's photo challenge was RELAX.  Well, as you can imagine, not too much relaxing goes on in this household.  But we did manage to go up to Bumblebee Ranch for a HopeKids event and were able to spend a nice day together as a family.  When we got there, Dylan headed straight for the bounce house.  We got lucky and were able to have just the boys bounce around together.  They LOVED it!! Dylan likes to just sit and get bounced around by others and just laugh and enjoy himself.  I could listen to his laugh all day long.  It never gets old! Put two giggling boys together and it is music to a mamma's ears.  I am so thankful for the amazing little boys that the Lord has blessed me with along with an amazing husband to help me!
